In Which We Battle for Control of the World

I love long, strategic games.  But I really hate losing them.  So, discovering a group of people who like Risk has been both a curse and a blessing. 

We have yet to play a full-length game as it turns out world domination takes hours and hours and some more hours.  But our three and four hour games send me on an emotional roller coaster...up one minute, having taken over Asia, only to plummet into the depths the next, having fallen victim to the classic blunder of trying to get involved in a land war in Asia.
