Ramadan Karim

Ramadan is officially in session.

This means all restaurants are either closed for the day or are take-out only (walking into a restaurant with the blinds drawn, lights mostly off, empty of people definitely adds a sinister tone to ordering sushi for lunch).

Lots of other shops are closed as well, what with people either being out of town, visiting family, or sleeping off their night of feasting, or too hungry to browse for goods.  Stores and government ministries are open abbreviated hours, usually 10 AM to 3 or 4 PM.  And everything closes by 7 PM, so people can get home.

And best of all, the streets are empty, especially in the early evening, as everyone is at home waiting for the sunset call to prayer.  This is an Amman I could get used to...

this street is normally like playing a high level of frogger to cross

The seems like the perfect setting for a horror film. Maybe you should either: think about that and be frightened, or begin filming.
