Packout

Seems like only yesterday that I was packing up to come to Jordan and now I am sitting here and almost all of my earthly possessions have been packed in boxes and loaded into crates and are ready to be put on a boat and sent back to Amerikiya.  Time flies and all that...

After weeks of de-cluttering and throwing things away and sorting it into piles, the movers arrived at 10 AM the first morning. They worked a little, took an hour lunch break, and then finished up at 4 PM, declaring they would return tomorrow to pack up the rest of the house (which consisted of my bed, a pile of purses and the contents of a desk in my bedroom - oh to be a contractor in the Middle East).

When they showed up at 10:30 on day two, and informed me they *might* be done by 5 PM, I politely informed them that they would be finishing up much earlier than that, as I had many things to do before leaving Jordan in less than 48 hours.  Also, my cleaning lady had arrived ready to do my final cleaning check, in anticipation of them having finished their job already, and it would be very difficult for her to work with boxes and debris everywhere.

Miraculously, they somehow were able to finish packing up those fifteen items remaining in my bedroom and load everything in the crates by 1:30 PM.  When the dust settled and the movers and cleaning lady had both departed, I found one lonely boot and my small wooden Korean table left behind.  Stupid movers.  I sighed and added "find some way to mail a boot and table home" to my list of things to do on my last day in Jordan.
