London: Part 2 1/2

With just a few hours before my flight, I spent Sunday morning wandering through the East End.

The carry-on was a little awkward with the cobblestones but I walked past the Ten Bells pub, where two of Jack the Ripper's victims spent some time, and Christ Church, Spitalfields, in whose yard some of Jack's victims slept and cleaned themselves.  I passed the site from which the phrase "on tenterhooks" came (in case you're wondering - tanners used to stretch hides out on hooks to dry in the sun).  I bypassed Brick Lane and Petticoat Lane markets and paused to check out the coolest modern mosque spire I've ever seen.  Sadly, Banglacity, the department store next door the mosque, was closed.  I ended my spin through the East End with a stop into Spitalfields Market, where I made a last minute purchase of two amazing shirts - Civil War era Storm Trooper and Chewbacca.

oh yah - going to the game with a 10-pack of booze

Then I raced to the airport, making it just in time to grab a quick lunch and take advantage of the full-service lounge bathrooms.  And to say goodbye to my favorite pair of jeans and Vans, both of which finally got holes in them which were un-repairable.

R.I.P. favorite items of clothing :(
