Petra by Candlelight

We decided to swing south for the weekend. Our first stop was to experience Petra by Candlelight. We had a shaky start but made it down there with just enough time to walk down through the Siq and hear the end of the bedouin tales and music, stopping along the way to take a million pictures.

It was incredible - the whole place felt eerie, beautiful, other-worldly. With no donkeys, camels, horse carriages, hustlers, and hardly any other tourists, I could finally feel the magic and majesty of Petra. The crumbling Treasury looked whole in the candlelight and I could picture the Nabateans just around the bend, sleeping the night away.
