As part of our Grand Egyptian Adventure, we visited Luxor. We only had one day so we hired a driver and made the most of it. The morning was spent at the Valley of the Kings (the tombs of Merenptah, Ramsses III, and Twosret and Setnakhte), the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Worker's Village and the Colossus of Memnon.
After an unsuccessful attempt to get Egyptian McDonald's (curse you power outage!), we headed over to Karnak and then to Luxor. We finished everything, exhausted, by 4:47 p.m. and headed back to our hotel for a much needed swim and wi-fi break (we had been deprived of wi-fi during our 2 1/2 days in Cairo and knew we would have another 2 day break and so Luxor brought out the internet junkies in us).
It was a very long but very effective day. I *might* not be truly appreciative of the splendors of Ancient Egypt as I think my favorite part of the day was eating my chocolate and lime Movenpick ice cream while watching the sunset over the Nile.

sad because tourists got in the way of awesome air kicks
what's better than awesome air kicks? awesome air fighting!
is it just me or does this look like I'm delivering Susan's baby?
felt totally naked...
next to these ladies
Susan and Sarah dodging vendor after vendor
and getting ready to run the guantlet
I might not have been *quite* paying attention to Sarah's lesson

That last picture is phenomenally beautiful. Looks like an awesome time. Way to deliver Susan's baby. Strong work there.
