Angry Eating

While in Nazareth we stopped at a road-side restaurant for some shwarma with falafel toppings. He dished up our sandwiches with a healthy does of meat, tahini sauce, pickled things, tomatoes and cucumbers and various sauces.

Then he said "50 shekels". My brain, unable to comprehend the exorbitance of the price, begin to count out "15 shekels". No, he retorted, 50 shekels.

In retrospect, 50 shekels is about $12 so I guess it wasn't a terrible price for an enormous and delicious sandwich. But the delicious falafel outside the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem is only 7 shekels...so, we engaged in some "angry eating" wherein we both hated and loved our lunch.
