I'm not sure why stop light vendors haven't made it to the States. In Jordan, there is a whole cottage industry built around taking advantage of the face that we are captive audiences as we sit in our cars.
Normally they sell Sponge Bob Square Pants stickers, small plastic balls designed to look like watermelons, light-up oversized plastic glasses and tissues. But they do change their product lines for special occasions. I really wish I'd gotten one of these...

They do newspapers at stoplights here in Killeen. Super irritating though because they often cause vehicles to miss the light. Maybe they should consider a delicious beverage stand. I'd go for that.
In Raleigh there are just beggars at the stop lights, with little hand written signs asking what would Jesus do.
Lisa - I would totally buy a delicious beverage. I've heard rumors that there is a cotton candy vendor but I've never seen him - would totally go for that as well.
Sheldon - I completely forgot about our American brand of stoplight entrepreneur!!
